Hop Shortage and The Latest Brew

You may already be aware of this, but in case you're not, here's the information. Due to a number of factors, the price of hops has at least tripled in the homebrew shops and most common varieties are out of stock. I exhausted myself trying to find a homebrew shop online that had even 1 oz. of Cenntennial hops, a major player in my Double IPL.

That being said, I started a new batch of the award-winning and wonderfully delicious creation yesterday. I had to substitute most of the hop varieties with something comparable that I could actually find. I am confident that this batch will be as good as the first, but it will be slightly different. If hop prices continue to rise, as they're forecast to do, this may be the last batch of high-gravity hoppy beer I make for a while.

In the absence of Centennial hops, I will be dry hopping with Chinook, Amarillo, and Northern Brewer.

The Original Gravity = 1.074
