I was pleasantly surprised to return home this afternoon from a weekend house-hunting trip to North Carolina and find an envelope from the Brewer's Association in the mailbox. Upon opening the envelope I found that I had been awarded the "gold certficate" for my performance at the National Homebrew Competition (see previous posts). Finally, something I can hang on my office wall and be proud of.
While the letter included with the certificate states that it is a gold certificate, the NBC skimped a little and just put it on a sturdy paper, like the kind you'd put your resume on if you actually wanted an employer to look at it. Maybe the actual gold certificates are sent out for the final rounders. Maybe next year.
